This trip starts with a vehicle ride for about 45mins. On the Western Highway to a landing call monkey bay (no monkeys) That’s where we get in the kayak and go down stream for about 2.5 to 3 hours, we past through beautiful riparian forest where we usually spot a number of birds, crocodile, iguanas, river otter and if we are lucky we may even see a Tapir as there are a lot of areas where they crisscross the river.
The current of the river is not that strong except for a few little rapids here and there, there are also a few sandy bays and we usually stop at one for a quick swim. At the end of the kayaking we come out at a river camp where we have a quick jungle lunch and then head back for another 45nims. drive. the whole trip takes approximately about 5.5 .
If time permits you will be able to add the Belize zoo to your day activities with no extra cost. All you need to do is pay your entrance fees ( $10.00 per/ adult and $5.00 per/ child ) and we will do the tour with you. We don't charge for the tour of the zoo because we pass by.
